NA Students Win Rider University’s High School Writing Contest

Rider-UniversityFive Newark Academy students will have their work published in the Fall 2013 issue of Rider University’s annual literary magazine, Venture. In the university’s 33rd Annual High School Writing Contest, Flannery James ’14 won 1st Place in Poetry & Nonfiction, Alyssa McPherson ’13  won 1st Place in Fiction, Harry McCarthy ’13 won 2nd Place in Poetry, Claudia Lu ’15 won 3rd Place in Nonfiction, and Elizabeth Vogel ’13 won Honorable Mention in Nonfiction. In addition to publication, the contest awards $100 for 1st Place, $50 for 2nd Place, and $25 for 3rd Place. Congratulations, writers!
