Kim ’18, Lebovitz ’18, McCullough ’18 & Zhang ’18 NJ Live Poets Society Winners

Poems by four Newark Academy sophomores were selected as winners in the in the 2015/2016 Live Poets Society of New Jersey 18th Annual National High School Poetry Contest. “To the Virginia Enlisted Man’s Frock Coat from the Civil War” by Katy Kim ’18 and “Breathe” by Alena Zhang ’18 were among 30 poems selected as national winners.  “Shattering Ice” by Megan McCullough ’18 and “Skyscraped” by Eva Lebovitz ’18 were selected for publication as  Topical Winners in the American High School Poets “My World” issue. Another poem by Katy, “Bitter Words” was also selected for publication in the summer 2016 issue. Congratulations, poets!
