Cicada is a national print magazine publishing fiction, nonfiction and poetry. The current issue features a poem entitled “a twisted sense of beautiful” written by Alyssa McPherson during last year’s Creative Writing Workshop. Bravo, Alyssa!
Cicada is now accepting submissions of poetry, artwork and photography for its new theme, “Hands.” The deadline is October 31st for January publication. Cicada approaches themes the way Ms. Brodie does for the community art show: broadly. For example, “hands” can mean helping hands, healing hands, hand in hand, at the hands of, by hand, creative hands, with a heavy hand, hands off, etc. NA artists, poets and photographers, why not give it a whirl?
