Flannery James ’14 Awarded Grant as YoungArts Winner

YoungArts is a talent-based scholarship program which honors and awards high school and college students for their prowess in the performing, visual and literary arts. It is the flagship program of the National YoungArts Foundation (previously the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts). The program is considered by many to be the most prestigious arts competition for young adults; it is also the exclusive nominating organization for the U.S. Presidential Scholars of the Arts. This year, the foundation selected 150 finalists from over 10,ooo applicants. As a finalist in Creative Writing, Flannery attended a week of master classes and performances in Miami, Florida, and was granted an award of $1,500 as a Level II winner. Congratulations, Flannery!
