The Cephalopod Ranked “Excellent” by PRESLM

The National Council of Teacher’s of English Program to Recognize Excellence in Student Literary Magazines (PRESLM) ranked The Cephalod, an anthology of fiction, poetry and creative nonfiction by Newark Academy’s  2010-2011 Creative Writing Workshop, as “Excellent” among New Jersey high school literary magazines. The magic cephalopod on the cover of the anthology was inspired by Lynda Barry’s book on writing, What It Is. Students in the class wrote, edited, proofread and designed the magazine.
